If you're looking for a reliable, oven-safe glass container that can handle everything from casseroles to meal prep, the Glasslock Oven Safe Rectangle 6.3 cups (model OCRT-173) deserves a close look. This medium-large rectangular dish strikes a perfect balance between capacity and footprint, making it a versatile addition to any kitchen.

In this review, we'll explore its design, performance, and how it compares to other options in the Glasslock lineup. Whether you're a home cook or a meal prep enthusiast, you'll want to know if this container lives up to the Glasslock reputation for quality and durability.

Design and Build Quality

The Glasslock Oven Safe Rectangle 6.3 cups features a tempered glass base that is resistant to thermal shock, allowing it to go from freezer to oven (up to 400°F) without cracking. The glass is thick and sturdy, giving it a premium feel. The container comes with a snap-lock plastic lid that creates an airtight seal, keeping food fresh and preventing leaks during transport.

The rectangular shape is ideal for storing leftovers, baking brownies, or roasting vegetables. Its dimensions (approximately 9.5 x 6.5 x 2.5 inches) fit easily into most toaster ovens and standard ovens. The lid has four locking tabs that click securely into place, and the base is microwave-safe for convenient reheating.

• Tempered glass construction for durability and thermal resistance.
• Airtight, leak-proof lid with four locking tabs.
• Oven safe up to 400°F (without lid), microwave and freezer safe.

Performance in the Kitchen

We tested the 6.3-cup rectangle by baking a chicken casserole and reheating leftovers. The glass heated evenly, and the dish was easy to clean with minimal food residue. The lid's seal remained intact after shaking, making it a great option for transporting soups or sauces. The container also stacks neatly with other Glasslock rectangles, saving cabinet space.

Compared to the Glasslock Oven Safe Round 3.1 cups, the rectangle offers more usable surface area for baking, while the round is better for soups or stews. If you need a larger capacity, the Glasslock Handy Rectangle 7.5 cups is a step up, but the 6.3 cups is a sweet spot for most family meals.

• Even heat distribution for baking and roasting.
• Easy to clean – dishwasher safe (base and lid).
• Leak-proof design ideal for meal prep and on-the-go lunches.

Versatility and Value

The 6.3-cup rectangle is part of Glasslock's oven-safe collection, which includes various sizes and shapes. It can replace disposable aluminum pans for baking, reducing waste. The glass base is non-porous and won't absorb odors or stains, even after repeated use with tomato-based sauces. For those who already own the Glasslock Oven Safe Round 6pc set, adding this rectangle expands your options for different recipes.

Priced competitively, this container offers excellent value for its durability and versatility. The lid's BPA-free plastic is sturdy and maintains its seal over time. Whether you're baking a lasagna, storing leftovers, or prepping ingredients, the Glasslock Oven Safe Rectangle 6.3 cups is a reliable workhorse.

• BPA-free, food-grade materials.
• Compatible with most oven and microwave sizes.
• Reduces need for single-use disposable pans.

If you're seeking a versatile, oven-safe glass container that combines durability with practical design, the Glasslock Oven Safe Rectangle 6.3 cups is an excellent choice. Its medium-large capacity fits a wide range of dishes, and the airtight lid makes it perfect for storing and transporting food.
